James Donald Bunton
James Donald Bunton, 80, of Du Quoin, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
James was a retired Tipple Operator for Arch Coal Company. He was of the Christian Faith. He was a member of the Du Quoin Eagles Lodge, the Du Quoin VFW and the UMW of A. James proudly served his country as a Specialist 4th Class in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War.
He was born July 3, 1934 at Du Quoin, Ill. the son of Carson and Ruth (Hunter) Bunton.
He is survived by his daughter- La Donna S. Bunton Hammond and husband Danny of Herrin, grandson- Dustin Irvin of Du Quoin, great granddaughter- Autumn Irvin of Du Quoin and brother- Danny Bunton of Du Quoin, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson- Marshall Irvin and four brothers.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Pastor Butch Patterson officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Military Graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin VFW, Du Quoin American Legion and the U.S. Army National Guard.
