Motorcycle crash hurts Saline County pair
Two Saline County people were hurt in a DUI-related motorcycle crash in Hamilton County early Saturday morning.
At 12:54 a.m. Curtis L. Goolsby, 44, Eldorado was driving a motorcycle south on state Route 142 about 1/4 mile north of Hamilton County Road 200N, when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road, according to a release from Illinois State Police District 19. The motorcycle left the road to the south and entered a group of trees before overturning.
Goolsby was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries and his passenger, Misty D. Yarber, 37, Harrisburg, was flown from the scene to an Evansville, Ind., hospital for treatment of injuries she sustained in the crash.
Goolsby was cited on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license revoked and improper lane usage. The investigation is continuing.
J & R Towing of McLeansboro towed the machine and McLeansboro Police assisted.
