VOLLEYBALL: A-J tops DHS in three sets

Du Quoin's varsity volleyball team took Anna-Jonesboro to three sets on Thursday night, but couldn't pull out a win at home, falling 25-15, 20-25, 25-10.

After the Lady Wildcats dominated the opening set, DHS controlled most of the second. The Lady Indians built an 11-4 lead on the scoreboard before letting A-J crawl back into it at 18-17, but finished strong to win the set by five points.

Anna-Jonesboro came out firing in the third, leading 11-0 at one point before cruising to a comfortable fifteen-point win.

Alaina Caldwell led the Lady Indians in kills with four, and assists with eleven. Defensively, Amanda Atteberry had a team-high eight digs, Jordyn Bullar added seven, Kenzie Jackson six. Afton Robinson finished with seven service aces. Jackson, Hope Fenton and Grace Haney each had a block.
