Du Quoin and Pinckneyville 'Pink Out' Game Oct. 7 to benefit patient Jade Warden
Du Quoin High School vols will be playing the Pinckneyville vols on Oct. 7 at home during a "Pink Out" game to raise money for breast cancer patient Jade Warden.
All proceeds from the t-shirt sales and 50/50 will be going to benefit Jade. "Jade actually played volleyball for me at Pinckneyville when I coached there so I thought the Du Quoin-Pinckneyville game would be a perfect opportunity to help her out with her medical expenses," said coach Jo Dill.
Youth shirts and adult shirts up through Size XL will be selling for $12. Larger sizes will be selling for $14.
Order forms are due to coach Dill by Sept. 30 and shirts can be picked up Monday Oct. 6 or Tuesday, Oct. 7 after school or at the Pink Out game.
Jade Warden's family and friends are coming together to raise money to help with Jade's fight against breast cancer.
On May 2, 2014 Jade was diagnosed with breast cancer
On May 29,2014 she underwent a lumpectomy and had two lymph nodes removed.
In a few weeks she will start chemo. Jade just turned 29 in April.
She works a full time job and also is a hair stylist.
"For those of you who know Jade she is the most upbeat, kind , loving and loyal person I have ever met," said coach Dill.
"She is a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, grand-daughter, niece, 'loyal to the end' friend and the most giving person I know," she said. "I am truly blessed to call her my niece and my friend. She will go to the ends of the earth for her family and friends at the drop of a hat. I can't begin to find the words to explain exactly how much she means to all of us."
"The last thing she needs to worry about is out of pocket costs, and bills that will keep coming in regardless. So lets all 'Pay it Forward' and give Jade all the love and support we can."
