VOLLEYBALL: PCHS can't hang on to lead vs. Herrin
Pinckneyville had a six-point lead in the third and final set of Monday's home volleyball match with Herrin, but couldn't hang on as the lady Tigers rallied to win thirteen of the last eighteen points to take the victory 16-25, 25-14, 27-25.
Sophie Keith and Daisy Dudek both had a team-best five kills for the Lady Panthers. Kaitlyn Sweeney led the way in assists (18) and service aces (4), Mady Epplin led digs with sixteen.
Hannah Groutage and Hunter Schullian each had seven kills to lead Herrin's offense, Madison LeQuatte and Haley Hunter both added six. Groutage and LeQuatte each had a pair of blocks. Makayla Smothers finished with seventeen assists.
The Lady Panthers return to action on Tuesday at Anna-Jonesboro.
