Perry County Board employees to have open enrollment for insurance
The Perry County Board passed a resolution amending the Perry County health plan to include an open enrollment period from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31. Coverage would for new employees would begin Jan. 1.
Employees will receive notice of open enrollment with their pay checks.
In other business, the board:
• approved 10-year special use permits for new mobile homes for Leria Guetersloh- Canary Road, Michael and Mary Jean Freund- Valier Carpet Road, Reva Hummel- Parakeet Road, Sherry Raines, North Oak Street in St. Johns and Shay Wynn- Sugar Pine Road.
• approved raffle licenses for Pinckneyville Chamber of Commerce and St. Bruno Catholic School/Church.
• passed a resolution authorizing County Engineer Brian Otten to participate in the state surplus property program.
• heard from Otten that a public hearing on the closing of Zinnia Road at the railroad crossing will be held on the north side of Zinnia Road at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7
• Approved a memorandum of understanding between Perry County Emergency Management Agency and Egyptian Area Agency on Aging.
• authorized Commissioner Sam Robb to determine whether or not accommodations are possible for a highway department employee who has been off work for workman's compensation and has asked to return to work.
