Prep Golf: Eagles go low

The Eldorado High School girls' golf team shot a season low round in a 158-241 win over Zeigler-Royalton Tuesday at Saline County Country Club.

Taylor Goodley fired a 3-under 32 to take medalist honors for the Eagles, while Ashton Goodley finished with a 1-over 36, while Taylor Aldridge and Sydney Tate each strung together a pair of 45's.

Harrisburg girls fall at Franklin County Country Club

WEST FRANKFORT - The Carterville girls' golf team shot a 194 in knocking off Harrisburg (211) and West Frankfort (211) Tuesday.

West Frankfort's Avery Rea took medalist honors with a 42, while Alexa Burtis paced the Bulldogs with a 43.

Harrisburg head coach Michael Tison said Burtis played well on the challenging Franklin County Country Club and was very stead.

"The keys to Alexa's round were finishing with an 8 footer for par on No. 8 and a 15 footer for par on No. 9"

Skylar Street finished with a 49 for Harrisburg, while Gabriella Tison carded a 50 , whose day included nearly holing out the 135-yard par-3 No. 6, tapping in for birdie from four inches. Nicole Taylor added a 69.

Eldorado boys win

The Eldorado High School boys' golf team picked up its first win of the year, knocking off Zeigler-Royalton 193-223.

Braydon Van Zant was medalist with a 41 for the Eagles, while Josh Rice finished with a 50. John Amberger and Jack Mings each finished with a 51.
