VOLLEYBALL: Elverado defeats Agape in two sets
Elverado won in straight sets for the second night in a row, knocking off Agape Christian 25-17, 25-18 in Tuesday night's home volleyball match in Elkville.
Leading the way for the Lady Falcons on offense was Cheyenne Abbadusky, who finished with 9 kills. Ellie Winthrop added 6 kills and led EHS with 3 digs, Emma Bigham and Paige Newfarmer each had 2 digs, and Newfarmer also led the team in blocks with 3. Baylie McClanahan had 9 assists.
"We really played well tonight," said Elverado head coach Donette Wheatley. "We wanted this game bad and the girls responded. We kept the ball in play and played lots of offense again."
"We just need to keep getting stronger and better with each game. The girls are doing a great job."
The junior-varsity Lady Falcons (4-0, 2-0) remained unbeaten on the season with a 25-15, 25-14 victory. Haily Falter's 5 kills were a game-high, followed by Tori Ehlers with 4. Ehlers led the way in digs with 3. Hope Porter and Maycee Bowlin each had 3 assists, and Porter had 4 service aces.
Elverado (varsity record 2-2, 2-0 in conference play) is on the road Thursday night against Crab Orchard.
