Pinckneyville Hospital in the black in July
Pinckneyville Community Hospital showed an operating income of $82,430 and a net income of $222,873 in July. July's financial report brought the year-to-date operating loss down to $32,059 and net income to $173,610. Net income/loss includes funds from sources other than operations.
Hospital Administrator Tom Hudgins said the year-to-date operating loss and net income are both ahead of the budget figures. He hopes August will bring the year-to-date operations in to the black.
In other business, the board:
• heard from Hudgins that the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board granted an extension of the hospital's certificate of need to build a new facility. The previous CON was set to expire Oct. 1.
• extended Dr. Christopher Reyes' contract for five years through 2019.
• approved a mandatory flu vaccination shot or mask policy. PCH began offering employees flu shots on Wednesday, Sept. 10. Hudgins said the aim was to have all staff vaccinated before Oct. 1.
• awarded the bid for a new roof on Family Medical Center to Kellerman Brothers for $43,350. The new roof should last 30 years.
