VOLLEYBALL: Christopher crushes Lady Falcons

Christopher was on the attack for the bulk of Thursday night's volleyball matchup at Elkville, storming past the Lady Falcons in straight sets 25-11, 25-13 to had Elverado their second loss in a row to start the season.

Cheyenne Abbadusky had four kills to lead EHS in the losing effort, Baylie McClanahan and Paige Newfarmer each had one. Abbadusky, Kaitlin Lively and Maya Hall each had one dig and McClanahan led the team in assists with four.

"Christopher is a great offensive team," said EHS head coach Donette Wheatley. "When you are playing defense all night, it's hard to score. When they set it up, they put it away. We have to keep our heads up because our conference season starts Monday."

The J-V Lady Falcons started the season 2-0, topping Christopher in three sets, 26-28, 25-23, 15-11. Tori Ehlers and Haily Falter had strong offensive games with twelve and eight kills respectively. Maycee Bowlin led the defense with eight digs, Ehlers led blocks with five. Hope Porter's nine assists were also a team-high.

EHS's freshmen fell in three sets to even their record at 1-1, falling 10-19, 15-13, 13-12. Ehlers had four kills in that game.

Elverado hosts Dongola on Monday with varsity tip-off at around 7:00 p.m.
