Martin Ralph Hepp

Martin Ralph Hepp, age 82, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 at 12:23 a.m. in Fairview Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Du Quoin, Ill.

Martin was born on May 26, 1932 in Perry County, a son to Scott "Toot" and Lisetta (Mayer) Hepp. On Sept. 6, 1952, Martin married Imogene Ferrari in T. L. Templeton's Home in Pinckneyville, Ill. and she survives. They shared 61 years of marriage together. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill., where he served on the board of trustees and was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a self-employed concrete finisher for 50 years, served on the board of Pinckneyville Mutual Insurance and was a member of O.P.C.M.I.A. Local # 143 for 45 years. Martin loved bird watching, hunting for arrow heads, tinkering, restoring Cushman Skooters and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene Hepp, two sons; Doug (Brenda) Hepp and David (Cindy) Hepp, all of Pinckneyville; one daughter, Laurie Ann (Clay) Jenkel of Tamaroa, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Megan (Jon) Farmer, Lindsay (Eric) Norman, Noah (Tiffany) Hepp, Aaron Hepp, Taylor Hepp, Tanon Leonard, Treyton Leonard, J.D Jenkel and Seohyun Lee. and seven great-grandchildren, Ashton and Luka Norman, Lexi and Ryleigh Farmer, Summer Brand, Violet Hepp and Daniel Kuhnert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Joshua Hepp and two brothers, Harlen Hepp and Bob Hepp.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill., Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Mark Lee and Dr. Jay Lowder officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill. Military graveside rites performed by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504

Friends may call at First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Thursday from 8:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made the American Cancer Society.
