Piecing Downtown Du Quoin Back Together One Brick at a Time

Du Quoin masonry contractor Wade Crews is pictured in the street department's bucket truck installing a new keystone atop a second story window in the Hobby House building at the corner of East Main Street and South Division Street in downtown Du Quoin Tuesday morning. Mayor Rex Duncan is ordering small, less expensive repairs to buildings when there is a clear and present danger that a section of a downtown building could fall. Long term solutions are being discussed by a building committee.
