OBITUARY: Roy Franklin Goolsby

Roy Franklin Goolsby, 75 of Harrisburg, passed away 4:48 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg.

He was born in Raleigh on Feb. 23, 1939, the son of Joseph and Nettie (Goulsby) Goolsby. Roy was an U.S. Army veteran and a mechanic by trade.

He is survived by two sons, Gary and Angela Turcott of Harrisburg, Jeff and Cathy Turcott of Traverse City, Mich.; one daughter, Tammy and Joseph Smith of Creal Springs; nine grandchildren, Garrett and Josh Turcott, Dalton and Shania Vaughn, Tonya Creager, and Toshia Everett, Trina Iannarelli, Amber McGill and Jesse Davidson; eleven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Ida Bebout, Ruby Bebout, Ethel Bebout, Margaret Smock; four brothers, George, Elmer, Clyde and Jim Goolsby; one grandson, Jeffery Davidson II.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown is in charge of arrangements.
