Old fashioned American ice cream truck to run Du Quoin neighborhoods

American Ice Cream, a locally owned, old fashioned ice cream truck company, over the weekend announced that it will add Du Quoin neighborhoods to its list of towns it currently services. Following the approval of the Perry County Health Department license and the City of Du Quoin peddler's permit, routes began on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27.

"We are excited about our opportunity to bring memories to Du Quoin residents that will last a lifetime," said Brendan Tolan, American Ice Cream owner/proprietor.

American Ice Cream is a locally-owned old-fashioned ice cream truck company. Blue Bunny frozen novelties are available starting at $1 through $5, with a 38-item menu, including fudge bars, ice cream cones, sno cones, bomb pops and SpongeBob Squarepants ice cream bars. The company operates three ice cream trucks and two freezer carts in three counties in Southern Illinois. Their current routes include the following towns: Carbondale, Murphysboro, DeSoto Elkville, Hurst, Bush, Cambria, Carterville, Herrin and Marion. They pride themselves on their signature short buses wrapped in an American flag with clean, polite drivers, letting parents and kids know that it is safe to come out to the curb. Their drivers are all required to pass both a criminal background check as well as a driving background check.
