First Baptist Community Changers plan big week Aug. 4 - 9 with gas discounts, car wash and more

First Baptist Church will hold their annual Community Changers activities Aug. 4 - 9.

This year begins with free coffee at Dixie's from 5 to 8 a.m. and a free nine-volt battery give-away from 4 to 6 p.m. at Perry County Market Place, Save-A-Lot and Casey's on Monday, Aug. 4.

Employees of local care facilities will receive appreciation baskets on Tuesday.

The ever-popular car wash and gas discount will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6. The car wash will take place at the Pinckneyville Ambulance Service and a $.20 per gallon discount on gas will be offered at Motomart.

Thursday volunteers will give away Coke Classic from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Friday, First Baptist will provide free rocket pops for Jr. High and High School band students then a free pool party will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the city pool, followed by free hot dogs and school supplies at 6 p.m. at the city pool.

The final day for the Community Changers will be yard work from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9.
