OBITUARY: Mary Alice Thorn

Mary Alice Thorn, 75 of Eldorado, died Monday, July 21, 2014, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.

She was born in Eldorado on May 24, 1939, to the late Albert and Abigail (Evans) Goodley. She worked in the Ladies Auxiliary at Ferrell Hospital gift shop and she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Eldorado First United Methodist Church. On April 16, 1976, she married John Thorn and he preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2007.

She is survived by her two sons: Joe R. Moore of Herrin and Jamie (Karen) Moore of Benton. Also surviving are two grandchildren: Jacey and Jaryn Moore; and four great-grandchildren: Haleigh, Mallory, Torrenca and Sean. She is also survived by a brother, Bernie (Dianne) Goodley of Eldorado; and a sister, Norma Naas of Battle Creek, Mich.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Goodley; a sister, Edna Mae; and a grandson, Landon.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at the Watson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
