OBITUARY: Helen Annie Sheff

Helen Annie Sheff, 61 of 7200 Battleford Road, Stonefort, died 10:25 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Reids Chapel Cemetery south of Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Father Tom Barrett will officiate.

She was born in July 4, 1942, in Alton, to the late Thomas and Helen (Slawson) Gegg.

She married Paul M. Sheff on Nov. 1, 1968, and he preceded in death on July 25, 2012.

She was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in Alton.

She is survived by two daughters: Dorothy Test of Vienna and Brenda (Robert) Workman of Harrisburg; son: Paul (Angel) Sheff Jr. of Florida; seven grandchildren: Jacob Burell, matthew Burrell, Tresa Sheff, Haley Sheff, Haven Test, Jessica (Jake) Durfee and Kaylee Workman; one great-grandchild: Emily Durfee; two sisters: Delores (Bobby) Ellis of Alton and Darlene (Joe) Kiefer of Florissant, Mo.; brother: Thomas (Tina) Gegg of Alton; great-uncle: Jack Slawson of South Carolina; and special cousin: Frank Wright.

She was preceded in death by son: Joe Sheff; grandchild: Dakota Shoemaker; sister: Brenda Gegg; her husband; and parents.
