OBITUARY: Billie Joan Hearn

Billie Joan Hearn, age 76, passed away at 10:32 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Billie was born on Nov. 21, 1937, in Eagle Harbor, Mich., to the late William McIlrath and Lora (Bramlet) and stepfather: Floyd Jennings. On Jan. 8, 1960, she married James Hearn and he preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1990. She was a member of Stonefort General Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a well-known waitress around town and was once recognized by the Chicago Tribune. Billie enjoyed playing bingo, going to the river and going for long car rides.

She is survived by three daughters: Charleen Bebout, Roberta (Carl) Stephenson and Dixie (Gary) Conley; son: Mike (Marti) Hearn; grandchildren: Tammy Pritchett, Lynda Prince, Kerry Morris II, Ray Boon, Teresa Hobbs, Melissa Swindle, Gina Bebout, Lora Bebout, Deke Rivers, Chrystal Lewis, Valerie Smith, Niki Trusty, Duston Hearn, Michael Woning, Melissa Woning, and Christopher Hearn and their spouses; 45 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She loved each and every one of them with all of her heart. She is also survived by a brother: Robert McIlrath; stepsister: Shirley Estes; sister-in-law: Faye Prather.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father; daughter: Lorna Morris; brother: David McIlrath; and son-in-law: Harold Bebout.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at Reed Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jeff Owen will officiate. Burial followed in Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills. Visitation was 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
