Gymnasium floors at Du Quoin High School and Du Quoin Middle School being refinished
Du Quoin Community Unit District 300 has begun its summer capital maintenance program, which includes some major flooring work essential to maintaining the integrity of the Du Quoin High School and the Du Quoin (K-8) Middle and Elementary School buildings.
Du Quoin schools business manager has gone to the trouble of itemizing the major work that will be accomplished.
1. Replacement of damaged tile flooring in K-8 kitchen with poured epoxy flooring like what was used in the new high school kitchen ($34,072)
2. Replacement of damaged tile flooring in K-8 physical education restroom/dressing rooms with poured epoxy flooring like what was used in the high school restrooms and all the other K-8 restrooms ($23,423)
3. Replacement of damaged tile flooring in K-8 commons and corridors with high grade VCT and non-slip flooring similar to what was used in the high school cafeteria and corridors ($21,866)
4. Replacement of damaged tile flooring in K-8 vestibules with waterproof high traffic carpet tile flooring ($13,487)
5. Sand, refinish and repaint Middle School gymnasium wood floor ($13,670)
6. Sand, refinish and repaint Anders Gymnasium wood floor and additional warranty repairs ($16,600)
7. Clean and apply 2 additional coats of finish to the new secondary gymnasium wood floor at the high school ($2,300)
