OBITUARY: Lorine Jane "Rene" Calufetti

Our loving mother Lorine Jane "Rene" Calufetti, 90 of Harrisburg, stepped into eternity at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.

Lorine was born on Aug. 7, 1923, in Johnston City, to the late Holland and Amie (Burns) Lantrip. On April 8, 1947, she married her high school sweetheart, Lawrence William Calufetti, and he preceded her in death on July 8, 1984.

Lorine graduated from Johnston City High School. She was a member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church.

She served God first and was a devoted prayer warrior. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a second mother to many and cherished all of her friends. She was an avid Bulldog fan and loved watching and listening to her families sporting events.

She is survived by her children: Lynda (Fred) Roper of Carrier Mills, Larry (Lise) Calufetti of Sea Ranch Lakes, Fla., Laura (Mike) Coenen of Omaha, Neb., Lisa (Jim) Hamilton of Beaumont, Texas, Lana (Robert) Soza of Owensboro, Ky., and Luci (Michael) Maynard of Harrisburg; grandchildren: Jeff (Diana) Roper of Harrisburg, Tom (Allison) Roper of Marion, Jason Roper of Carrier Mills, Erin (Kenny) Schumacher of Lauderdale by the Sea, Fla., Jenna (Derek) Auckland of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Joe Coenen of Omaha, Neb., Will Coenen of Omaha, Neb., Zachary (Alea) Hamilton, of Beaumont, Texas, Jolene Trefon of Sioux Falls, S.D., Christopher Trefon of Sioux Falls, S.D., Abigail Hamilton of Beaumont, Texas, Charlene (John) Morel of Sioux Falls, S.D., Lilliana Soza of Owensboro, Ky., Isabella Soza of Owensboro, Ky., Callie Maynard of Harrisburg, Caitlyn (Jacob) Dismang of Harrisburg and Cassidy Maynard of Harrisburg; great-grandchildren: Reid Roper and fiancée Victoria Hamblin, Ryne Roper, Rece Roper, Grace Roper, Callahan Roper, Felix Maynard, Dominic Campagna, Tattum Jara, Emmett Hamilton and Soren Hamilton; brother: Gordon (Shirley) Lantrip; sister: Jearren (Bob) Fravell; and several nieces and nephews.

Lorine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters, Charles Lantrip, Bill Lantrip, and Audrey Doerr and a nephew, Marc Doerr.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at McKinley Avenue Baptist Church in Harrisburg. Dr. Jim Hamilton will officiate and will be assisted by the Rev. Billy Dye. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at McKinley Avenue Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, HHS Football, McKinley Avenue Baptist Church and Dorrisville Baptist Church Nicaragua Missions.
