OBITUARY: Anna Ruth Black
Anna Ruth Black, age 84, died peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2014, at her home in Cleburne, Texas.
Anna Ruth was born on May 7, 1930, in the Saline Mines area south of Shawneetown to the late Albert and Edith (Scroggins) Stanley. She was married to Charles Black Jr. on Feb. 16, 1948, he preceded her in death in 1991. Anna Ruth was an administrative assistant for the Exxon Corporation for over 30 years before retiring. She was a protestant by faith. Anna Ruth was a kind soul who will be greatly missed.
Anna Ruth is survived by a brother, John Stanley of Texas; and a sister, Lovene Leavell of Carmi; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Mitchell of Elk Grove Village; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by a brother James Mitchell; two sisters, Vivian Gosnell and Virginia Patton.
There will be a graveside service 1 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at the Palestine No. 2 in Omaha next to her husband. The Rev. Harold Miller will officiate.
