OBITUARY: Jane R. Endsley

Jane R. Endsley, 71, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away 8:57 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin.

Jane was a nurse and nurse educator for over 50 years, having taught nursing at Southeastern Illinois College at Harrisburg.

She was extremely proud of her 3 year Certificate in Nursing that she received from Deaconess School of Nursing from Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. Later, she received her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Evansville at Evansville, Ind.

Jane was born Oct. 14, 1942, in Harrisburg to Clifford and Haroldean (Malone) Bond.

Jane was united in marriage with William R. "Bill" Endsley on June 6, 1964, in Harrisburg.

Surviving are her husband of almost 50 years, William R. "Bill" Endsley of Herrin; brother and sister-in-law, Joel B. and Pam Bond of Harrisburg; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carolyn and John Dillman of O'Fallon, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Phyllis King.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin with the Rev. John Annable officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 3 p.m. p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at the funeral home. Following services, Jane will be cremated and her cremated remains will be interred at a later date in Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested and may be made to the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, Ill. 60674; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
