OBITUARY: Wendell Sullivan

Wendell Sullivan, 76, resident of Terre Haute, Ind., passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind.

He was born in Equality June 23, 1937, to the late Carroll and Ethel (Hopson) Sullivan. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Brazil, Ind. Wendell served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He married the former LaDona Yakel who survives. He retired from US Steel.

He is survived by his wife, LaDona Sullivan of Terre Haute, Ind.; two daughters, Lisa (Joe) Ramis of Texas, Lori Kress of Harrisburg; five stepsons, John (Stephanie) Pezan of Rockville, Ind., Robert (Angenette) Pezan of South Bend, Ind., Andrew (Teri) Pezan of Neoga, Philip (Sarah) Pezan of Florida, Bryan (Angela) Pezan of Terre Haute, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Irma Mitchell of Marshall; a sister, Donna Sullivan of Atlanta, Ga.; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, David Paul Sullivan; and a sister, Shirley Scroggins. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Elmwood Cemetery with military rites. The Rev. Ownly Williams will officiate. There will be no visitation, those attending should go directly to the cemetery. Colonial Terrace Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
