OBITUARY: Charles B. Smalley

Charles B. Smalley, 88 of Norris City, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 16, 2014, in Evansville, Ind.

He was born in Arkansas on May 9, 1926, to the late Claude and Gladys Smalley. Chuck spent the majority of his life in Chicago and Fox River Valley Gardens, now known as Port Barrington. He was a faithful employee of the Chicago and North Western Railroad for over 40 years. In his last few days he accepted the best gift of all in the salvation of Jesus.

He is survived by his three children: Phyllis (Burt) Hawkins of Columbia, S.C., Charles G. Smalley of Norris City and Jody (John) Williams of Eldorado; five grandchildren: Chelsea Hawkins, B. Holt Hawkins, Christopher Amberger, Eric Amberger and Katie Scates; and four great-great-grandchildren: Gabriel Amberger, Michael Amberger, Reno Scates and Logan Amberger; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters.

As per his wishes he was cremated and there will be no services.

Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado was in charge of arrangements.
