OBITUARY: Marianna Belcher

Marianna Belcher, age 82 of Eddyville passed away May 6, 2014, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Marianna was born April 18, 1932, to Willie and Nina (Hazel) Risinger. She married Don "Pancake" Belcher on March 23, 1950. Marianna had worked at the Nationwide Glove Factory and from 1982 to 2000, at the Pope County Care Center. She was an avid reader, liked baseball and UK basketball, quilted and worked puzzles.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Rick) Basinger of Enfield, Beverly (Ron) Barnes of Harrisburg; six grandchildren, Kris Belcher, Jaqui Basinger, Nicole Cashion, Gwen Basinger, Jamie Moore, Ronica Barnes; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Hazel Kohlbuss of Bartonville, Floy Lee Bouchez of Bartonville, Shirley Russell of Simpson; several nieces and nephews.

Marianna was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Risinger, Nina Kerley; husband, Don "Pancake" Belcher; son, Deon Belcher; two sisters, Helen Copeland, Mary Lou Castleman.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. The Rev. Roy Baker will conduct the service. Burial will follow the service at Eddyville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at the funeral home.
