NBC Renews Law & Order: SVU for Season 16

Benson has officially been saved.

NBC has renewed long-running procedural Law & Order: SVU for a 16th season, TVGuide.com has learned.

Fall 2014 TV Scorecard: Which shows are returning? Which aren't?

The Mariska Hargitay-led drama is coming off a strong year both creatively and ratings-wise - thanks in part to the #SaveBenson arc. This season's ratings are up from Season 14, and the most recent episode drew 6.2 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic.

This is more good news for executive producer Dick Wolf, whose other two series, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. , were renewed for new seasons two months ago.

Law & Order: SVU airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC. Are you glad the Benson will be back?
