OBITUARY: Jack L. Cain
Jack L. Cain, 79 of Raleigh, passed away 1:39 p.m. Friday April 3, 2014, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Jack was born April 26, 1934, in Raleigh, the son of Lewis and Ruth Burton Cain. On Jan. 20, 1956, he married Patricia Pierce and she survives.
At an early age Jack moved to Michigan where his mother found work in the factories there. He went to school in Garden City, Mich., and in 1952 enlisted into the U.S. Navy where he spent the next 18 years traveling and stationed around the world. He was a 1st Class Petty Officer and Flight Engineer. After retiring from the Navy he started his second career in automobile sales at Tennyson Chevrolet in Plymouth, Mich., before moving his family back to Saline County and going to work at a new dealership named Jim Hayes Ford. For the next twenty years Jack was the sales manager at Jim Hayes Inc., retiring in 1996. Jack was a member of the Raleigh First United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, 32nd Degree Mason and Ainad Shrine. He was a very proud Veteran.
Surviving Jack is his wife of 58 years, Patricia Pierce Cain; two sons, David (Pat) Cain of Canton, Mich., and Jeff (Jennifer) Cain of Harrisburg; and one daughter, Karen (Mike) Weirauch of Harrisburg; along with 9 grandchildren, Jason Weirauch, Jessica Weirauch, Kristen Venier, Scott Cain, Madison Weirauch, Jeffrey Cain, Ashley Cain, Bailey Cain and Cary Cain; five great-grandchildren, Kennedy Weirauch, Jack Venier, Ella Weirauch, Alle Weirauch and Harper Venier.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. John Cross and the Rev. Earl Webb officiating. Burial with military honor rites will be in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
