OBITUARY: Herbert Edward Miller

Herbert Edward Miller, 79 of Junction, passed away at his home 1 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014.

He was born on July 16, 1934, in Herrin, the son of John B. and Hallie (Ewing) Miller. Herb married Wanda Joyce Bean on Nov. 27, 1958, who preceded him in death on May 15, 2010. He was a farmer and member the Equality Masonic Lodge No 2. Herb was an Air Force Korean War veteran and was a member of the Ridgway American Legion Post No. 596 and the Eldorado VFW Post No. 3479. He is survived by his son, Doug and LeAnn Miller of Junction; one brother, J.C. and Theda Miller of Ridgway; two sister-in-laws, Stella Anderson of Eldorado and Grace Mathias of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Laura Miller of Junction, Julie and Davy Martin of Harrisburg; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Sam Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Claude and William Miller.

Visitation for Herb will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014, with Masonic Rites at 7 p.m. at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado. Funeral service will be at the funeral home 11 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2014, with the Rev. Christine Cunningham officiating. Burial will be at the Wolf Creek Cemetery near Eldorado with Military Rites by Ridgway American Legion and the Military Honors Team.
