OBITUARY: Patsy T. (Dowdy) Steapleton

Patsy T. (Dowdy) Steapleton, age 75 of Carrier Mills, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014, at her residence.

Patsy was born on Nov. 26, 1938, in Saline County to the late Othor and Nell (Butler) Dowdy. On July 3, 1989, she married J.R. Steapleton and he survives. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and the Egyptian Shrine Ladies.

Surviving family members include her husband, J.R. Steapleton of Carrier Mills; son, Kevin (Sheila) Dowdy of Harrisburg; son, Bryan Dowdy of Eldorado; grandchildren, Kaci Dowdy, Kollin Dowdy, Justin Dowdy and Chasidie Dowdy; two great-grandchildren, Bryson Dowdy and Ian Cunningham; several nieces and nephews.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bobby and Donnie Dowdy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Randy Sork will officiate. Burial will follow in Butler Cemetery in Harrisburg. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
