Have You Seen This? Daily affirmations with Aussie construction workers

AUSTRALIA - You've seen the American version of Snickers commercials with the tag, "You're not you when you're hungry."

Well, Snickers has released a commercial in Australia that has it's own take on that tag, and it's hilarious and even charming.

The premise plays on a long-standing stereotype of cat-calling, foul-mouthed construction workers. (Or as the Brits and Aussies call them, builders.)

In the commercial, the builders get the attention of passing women - who are not actors, according to the Snickers Australia YouTube channel. But instead of cat-calling, the builders shout positive affirmations and empowering statements to the women.

Some women seemed confused and unsure about being shouted at in the first place. You can tell they are suspicious and may be suspecting inappropriate remarks. But when they realize what's going on, their faces brighten and they move on with a little sunshine in their day.

Of course, the commercial has kicked up some controversy with claims of sexism and asking Snickers if it thinks all builders should eat Snickers to revert back to "themselves" as misogynists. But I like to think that Snickers is pointing to a gross stereotype to say that some inequalities in our world happen because of other gross stereotypes.

But I'm not here to make a statement, and I don't want to over think it. I just want to not take myself too seriously and have a good laugh while watching this commercial.

As for you, dear readers? "That color really works on you. Have a lovely day!"%3Cimg%20src%3D%22http%3A//beacon.deseretconnect.com/beacon.gif%3Fcid%3D157476%26pid%3D46%22%20/%3E</group>
