OBITUARY: Esther J. Burchell

Esther J. Burchell, 82 of Galatia, passed away at 12:04 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014, at her residence.

She was born on Dec. 29, 1931, in Marion to the late Norman Burchell and Joy Belle Burchell Marvel. She worked as a secretary for Pan Handle Eastern Gas Line of Huston, Texas, and also was a dance instructor for Stevens of Hollywood in Houston, Texas. She attended Dillingham Church.

Esther is survived by two brothers, Roger (Linda) Marvel and Ronnie Marvel; several nieces and nephews, Mavrick Marvel, Shelly Jordan, Mavrick (Bub) Marvel, Becky Joiner, Bodey Marvel, Timmy Marvel, Theresa Marvel and Kendell Marvel.

She was preceded by two brothers, Jack Burchell and Shelby Jean Marvel.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The Rev. Roger Marvel will officiate with burial in the Dillingham Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Dillingham Cemetery.
