The mockumentary-style comedy centered on a reality show about former sitcom star Valerie Cherish (Kudrow) as she tried to re-ignite her career. The series, which earned three Emmy nominations, was canceled in 2005 after one 13-episode season.
However, like other TV series recently brought back to life on different mediums - Arrested Development and Veronica Mars - The Comeback gained more praise and traction after it went off the air. Kudrow currently stars on the Showtime comedy Web Therapy , for which she also writes, and King is an executive producer on CBS' 2 Broke Girls . Both shows have been renewed for new seasons.
