OBITUARY: Norman W. Sutton
Norman W. Sutton, 89 of Eldorado, died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at his residence in Eldorado.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1924, to the late Frank S. and Lila (Gholson) Sutton. He was a retired school teacher, teaching at Eldorado and then retiring from Carrier Mills school system. He was a member of the Eldorado First United Methodist Church and served on the board of the Choisser Kitchen. He served in the Marine Corp during World War II and in Korea. He was a member of the Eldorado VFW and the American Legion. He was active in the senior citizens organization.
On Sept. 4, 1949, he married the former Verita Marie Hedger and she survives in Eldorado. Also surviving are his children, daughter Susan (Bill) Parker of Wilmington, N.C., and son Kevin (Denise) Sutton of Jackson, Mo. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Alice Berry.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Eldorado. The Rev. John Cross and Rick Wilson will be officiating. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the church. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery with military rites.
Memorials may be made in his honor to the Choisser Kitchen or The First United Methodist Church.
