American Horror Story Season 4 Will Take Place at a Carnival

From a Coven to a circus.

American Horror Story 's next installment will take place at a carnival, writer Douglas Petrieconfirmed on a Nerdist Writer's Panel podcast.

"Very roughly, that's the idea," Petrie said, adding that the fourth season does not yet have a title.

Last year, a series of official-looking American Horror Story: Circus posters made the rounds on the Internet, prompting speculation among fans that FX was divulging the theme of Season 4 months in advance. A traveling circus was also one of the "wild theories" TVGuide.com floated as a possible setting for the next iteration.

Creator Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly in January that the next season will take place over two time periods, with the main one being the 1950s.
