OBITUARY: William Herschel "June Bug" Rigsby Jr.

William Herschel "June Bug" Rigsby Jr., 61 of Shawneetown, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, due to a trucking accident near Omaha.

He was born Sept. 23, 1952, in Eldorado, the son of William Herschel Sr. and Bethel (McGrew) Rigsby. June Bug was a truck driver for R.G. Berry Trucking of Shawneetown. He married Jennifer Kaye Wiles on July 3, 1981.

June Bug is survived by his wife, Jenny Rigsby of Shawneetown; his mother, Bethel Rigsby; two sisters, Patty and Jerry Riley, Mary Gladys and James Kingery, all of Shawneetown.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation for June Bug will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Funeral will be at the funeral chapel 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, with Father Steven Beatty officiating. Burial will follow at Hogan Cemetery near Shawneetown. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association or American Diabetes Association.
