OBITUARY: Louise R. Hassett

Louise R. Hassett, most recently of Chillicothe and formerly of Muddy and Eldorado, passed away March 9, 2014, at Heritage Health in Chillicothe.

Louise was born on June 22, 1918, to Michael and Rosa Roth Doerner in White County. She married Joe Hassett on April 1, 1938, and he preceded her in death in May of 1981.

She was a Protestant by faith. She was a 4-H leader, a member of the Rebecca's Lodge and she was the "Flower Lady" in Muddy and Eldorado.

Louise is survived by one son, Ray A. (Janet) Hassett of Peoria; and three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Kelly) Hassett of Bloomington, Scott (Stephanie) Hassett of Morton and Wm. Todd Hassett of Kirkwood, Mo. She also had four great-grandchildren: Austin, Madelyn, Maxwell and Brett. She also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two stepdaughters, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Thursday until service time at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Cottage Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the donor's choice.
