OBITUARY: Virginia M. (Shea) Christie

Virginia M. (Shea) Christie, 66, of Madisonville, Ky., formerly of Eldorado, died at her residence on March 7, 2014.

She was born in Equality on Nov. 20, 1947, to the late George and Anna Mary (McDonald) Shea.

On Feb. 14, 1990, she married Walter "Chief" Christie and he preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 2009.

Surviving are her children: Anthony L. Zirkelbach Jr. of Eldorado, Curtis L. Zirkelbach of Henderson, Ky., and Genny Elaine Zirkelbach of Madisonville, Ky.; three grandchildren: Camrun Anthony Curtis Eaves, Krista Zirkelbach and Ashleigh Zirkelbach. Also surviving are two brothers: Lawrence (Linda) Shea of Raleigh and Bob (Marsha) Shea of Baton Rouge, La., and two sisters: Clara (Ronnie) Johnson of Dallas, Texas, and Mary Zimmer of York, S.C. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her first husband: Anthony L. Zirkelbach Sr. in 1992; two sons: Johnny Ray Zirkelbach and Gary Dewayne Zirkelbach; a brother: George Shea; and a sister: Catherine Baldwin.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Sonny Jackson officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Equality. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the funeral home.
