OBITUARY: Norman O'Keefe
Norman O'Keefe, 76 of West Chicago, formerly of Stonefort, died Sunday, March 2, 2014, in his sleep at the home of his niece in West Chicago.
Memorial services for cremated remains will be held 11 a.m. Saturday March 8, 2014, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Gordon Smith will officiate and inurnment will be done later in Las Vegas, Nev.
Norman was born on Nov. 8, 1937, in Stonefort, to the late Arthur and Mollie (Davenport) O'Keefe.
He graduated from Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School, he earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
Norman was employed by the IRS for many years living in Las Vegas, Nev. When he retired he enjoyed traveling and spending the winters in Florida.
He is survived by his wife: Joye O'Keefe; two stepchildren: Vance (Candy) Nielson of Snohomish, Wash., and Linda Larae Nielson-Landon of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchild: Nicole Landon of Las Vegas; three brothers: Truman O'Keefe of Ashford, Ala., Charles (Edith) O'Keefe of Mountain Home, Ark., and Mike (Peggy) O'Keefe of Stonefort; sister: Mary (Sol) Green of Bensenville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Jessie O'Keefe; sister: Helen Kerr; and two brothers: Freeman O'Keefe and Frankie O'Keefe.
