OBITUARY: Alice Rosita Boyer

Alice Rosita Boyer of Eldorado passed from this life on Sunday morning, March 2, 2014.

She was born in White County to Merida and Bessie Creek.

She was married to William T. Barrett, former Saline County Sheriff and Treasurer. They operated Barrett's Shoe Store in Eldorado. William Barrett passed away Oct. 4, 1985. Alice married Dr. Irvin Boyer, a retired optometrist, on March 22, 2002. Dr. Boyer passed away Aug. 5, 2002.

Alice served in the U.S. Women's Army Corps during World War II. Mrs. Boyer loved dogs and children; she especially enjoyed fishing and ballroom dancing.

She is survived by a stepdaughter, JoAnn Willhite of Texas; a stepson, Gene Boyer, and his children Alanna and Eric of Colorado.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceeded in death by brothers, Roy Rutland, Raymond Rutland, Ernest Pollard and Wayne Creek; and sisters, Ruby Webb and Lela Wintenberg.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eldorado. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Watson Funeral Home.
