Prep Hoops: Eldorado's Lawrence, Deaton go out on high note for Eagles

For Eldorado's Dylan Lawrence and Tyler Deaton, there was no better way to go out.

The two seniors combined for a 31 points to lead the Eagles to a 59-50 win over Vienna Friday night at Duff-Kingston Gymnasium.

Deaton led all scorers with 18 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field and 8-of-12 from the charity stripe, while Lawrence finished with 13, going 4-for-13 from the field and 5-of-7 from the foul line in the win.

Richard Graceffa finished in double figures for Eldorado with 11 points, while Adam Partridge and Nathan Burnett both had seven points. Ethan Partridge tacked on three for Eldorado.

The Eagles shot 41 percent (16-for-39) from the field, while limiting Vienna to 39 percent.

The game was ultimately won at the free throw line for the Eagles, where the went 26-of-37 from the foul line, finishing at 70 percent.

Eldorado out-rebounded Vienna 31-21, limiting VHS to just four offensive rebounds.

After playing to a 10-10 tie after one quarter of play, Eldorado out-scored Vienna 16-7 in the second quarter to take a 26-17 lead into the locker room. Vienna turned the tides to start the second half, outscoring EHS 17-12, but it was all Eldorado in the final eight minutes, out-scoring Vienna 21-16.
