OBITUARY: Glen Dale Lynch

Glen Dale Lynch, 65, of Ridgway, passed away at his home 7:05 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014.

He was born on April 2, 1948, in Ridgway , the son of Grant E. and Dora Elizabeth(Barlow) Lynch. Glen married Brenda J. Bass on May 26, 1978. He worked at Belvins Popcorn Factory and the Ridgway Water Department. Glen was an Army Vietnam veteran and a church member of the Ridgway Church of God. Also he was a member of the Ridgway American Legion/VFW Post No. 596.

Glen is survived by his wife, Brenda Lynch of Ridgway; three daughters, Melissa and Les Sutton of Murray, Ky., Salina Debose and Daniel Overfield of Ridgway, Bessie and Richie Pennington of Ridgway; one son, Brian Reynolds of Shawneetown; one brother, Roy and Marlene Lynch of Ridgway; three sisters, Lynn Etta Lynch of Golden, Miss., Beulah and Reggie McCaughan of Equality, Reda Swindle of Golden, Miss.; one sister-in-law, Diane Lynch also of Golden, Miss.; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Kalob, Brayden, Braxton, Gavyn, Lathyn, Ryan, Cole, and Breanna; one great-grandchild, Braxton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Clarrissa Gail Tipton; two brothers, David and John Lynch; one brother-in-law, Louis Swindle; his grandmother, Bessie Battesse.

Visitation for Glen will be held 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. Funeral will be at the funeral home 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, with the Rev. John Wright officiating. Burial will be at the Hogan Cemetery near Shawneetown with military rites by the Ridgway American Legion and the Military Honors Team.
