OBITUARY: Evelyn Janice Lindle

Evelyn Janice Lindle, 80, of 306 E. Walnut St., Carrier Mills, died 12:12 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday. Burial will be in Joyner Cemetery near Stonefort and the Rev. Eddie Brooks will officiate.

She was born on Jan. 15, 1934, in Carrier Mills, in the same house and same spot she was born in to the late Harry and Mildred (Lewis) Ritter. Her mother, Mildred died when she was a few months old. She was raised by Evelyn Romeo Todd whom also preceded in death.

She married George Leroy Lindle and he survives.

Janice was a Certified Nursing Assistant and also was owner and operator of The Bait Shop located on Granger Street in Harrisburg for many years. She was also a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church in Stonefort.

She is survived by her husband: George Leroy Lindle of Carrier Mills; two daughters: Pat Jackson of Ennis, Texas, and Karen Foster of Harrisburg; four sons: Eli E. (Femelyn) McEwan, Mike (Candy) McEwan and Mike Lindle, all of Harrisburg, and John Lindle of Carrier Mills; sister: Jean Whiting of Florida; 19 grandchildren: Jeff Jackson, Tricia McEwan, Keya Pate, Valerie Foster, Malaina Foster, Danielle Foster, Alisha (Josh) Gibbs, Mariah McEwan, Amanda McEwan, Matt McEwan, Jamie Edwards, Derek Partain, Steven Lindle, David Lindle, Terry Lindle, Richard Colborth Jr., Vernon Colborth, Brennen Roberson and Carolyn (Matt) Marks; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by son: Jim McEwan; two daughters: Nancy Lindle and Joyce Colborth; son-in-law: Mike Foster; three brothers: Arthur Ritter, John Ritter and Harry Ritter; and a sister: Helen Blackman.
