Tuesday crashes bring deputies, ambulances
Saline County Sheriff's Deputies responded to multiple wrecks Tuesday morning during a 45 minute-period when cold air turned melted snow into ice.
Deputies handled wrecks on state Route 34 North near the Franklin County line, on Harco Road, on state Route 34 near Raleigh, on Raleigh Chapel Road and at Liberty Road at McHaney Road, according to Sheriff Keith Brown.
None of the crashes resulted in major injuries, but several were taken to Harrisburg Medical Center Tuesday for treatment of minor injuries.
Another crash happened Tuesday afternoon on U.S. Route 45 at the Harrisburg Middle School as school was letting out, but that was not ice-related.

At 7:57 a.m. on Raleigh Chapel Road the vehicle driven by Diane Grisham, 58, Raleigh, skidded on the ice and struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Mary C. Fox, 60, Raleigh, that was stopped in front of her at the intersection at Raleigh Road, according to a sheriff's accident report. There were no reported injuries.
