OBITUARY: Mary Jean Rice
Mary Jean Rice, 84, of Eldorado, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
She was born in Eldorado on Sept. 25, 1929, to the late Thom and Mary Alice (Nelson) Neal. She worked as the secretary for the Superintendents of Eldorado Unit No. 4 school system for many years. She was a member of the Eldorado First Christian Church. On June 28, 1947, she married Millard Rice and he preceded her in death on May 8, 2013.
She is survived by two sons: Jerry (Oma) Rice of Norris City and Brian (Mellisa) Rice of Washington, Pa.; a daughter-in-law: Kim Rice; seven grandchildren: Darrin (Stephanie) Rice, Lucas (Nicole) Rice, Talia Rice, Ivy (Adam) Wabneg, Jennifer (Rob) Eli, Amanda Rice, Timothy Rice and Sharon Rice; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two nieces: Mary Beth Fetcho of Eldorado and Frona Crisp of Kissimmee, Fla.; two nephews: Bill (Lynn) Neal and Rick Neal. She was preceded in death by a son: Larry Rice. Three brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with Dennis Robison officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to service time at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at the funeral home.
