OBITUARY: Geraldine Butler

Geraldine Butler, 83, of Harrisburg passed away at 12:40 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

Geraldine was born on Nov. 19, 1930, in Equality to the late Haskell "Pete" and Clara (Mondy) Vinyard. On Aug. 30, 1959, she married Leonard E. Butler and he survives. Geraldine loved her family, graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1948, was an excellent cook, enjoyed sewing and loved her cats and dogs.

Surviving family members include her husband: Leonard E. Butler of Harrisburg; three daughters: Joel and Donna (Butler) Bloodworth of New Burnside, Steve and Debra (Butler) Goldstein of Los Alamos, N.M., and Doug and Sharon (Threet) Pyle of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren: Casey Bloodworth of New Burnside, Cory Bloodworth of New Burnside, Sarah Goldstein of Albuquerque, N.M., Megan Goldstein of Seattle, Wash., Zachary Goldstein of Los Alamos, N.M., Douglas Pyle of Harrisburg and Benjamin Pyle of Bowling Green, Ky.; two great-grandchildren: Brooke Pyle and Gracie Pyle of Harrisburg.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel, in Harrisburg. The Rev. Scott Sparks will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery in Harrisburg. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriner's Children's Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
