OBITUARY: Jeanette Hall

Mary Jeanette Hall, formerly of Raleigh, passed away Monday afternoon, Dec. 2, 2013, at her son's home in Carterville.

Jeanette was born Sept. 19, 1914, in Raleigh to Earl Heathman and Verlie Bond Heathman. She married David F. Hall on Sept. 6, 1937. They remained together until his death in 1970.

Jeanette obtained her beautician's license in 1935 and opened Jeanette's Beauty Shop in Raleigh the same year. She operated this business continuously until December of 2010. She was a born again Christian and a member of Raleigh Baptist Church.

Her passions were her family and her work. In the 1970s and 1980s in addition to maintaining her beauty shop she was also worked as a hairdresser at Eldorado Nursing Home.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Verlie Heathman; husband, Dave Hall; brothers, Gilbert Heathman of Indianapolis, Ind., Houston Heathman of Raleigh, Philip Heathman of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters, Judene Knight of Raleigh, Fern Pulliam of Galatia and Pauletta Humphery of Energy.

She is survived by her son, Ron Hall and wife Cindy of Carterville; granddaughters, Mary Bearden and husband Michael of Cambria, Susan Hartmann and husband Greg of Kirkwood, Mo.; grandsons, Dustin Hall of St. Louis, Mo., and Jimmy Hall of Carterville; great-grandson, Joshua Bullock and fiancé Nicole Behnke of Carmi; and great-great-grandson, Henry Thomas Bullock of Carmi.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with Monsignor Kenneth Schaeffer officiating. Burial will be in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and left at the funeral home.
