OBITUARY: James Modglin

James Modglin, 65, Bunker Hill, passed away at 9:57 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at home.

He was born on July 16, 1948, in Harrisburg, the son of Kenneth and Nina (Palmer) Modglin.

He worked as a millwright and electrician for Jefferson Smurfit and worked at J.F. Electric. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and loved his pets.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kristi and Jeff Admire of Bunker Hill and Kelli and Joe Pence of Brighton; four grandchildren, Tyler and Kyle Admire of Bethalto and Brad and Megan Pence of Brighton; one expectant great grandson, Cayden Pence; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Wanda and Leon Stilley of Equality and Brenda Gulley of Carrier Mills.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Modglin and a brother-in-law, Jerry "Tub" Gulley.

Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.

Graveside burial will be at Colvert Cemetery at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, with a gathering immediately following.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
