OBITUARY: Paul William “Bill” McCabe

Paul William "Bill" McCabe, age 67 of Carrier Mills, passed away at 4:16 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Bill or Uncle B, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Stonefort on April 16, 1946, to the late Paul and Imogene McCabe. Bill was never married. He retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections.

He is survived by his sister and brothers, Nancy and Rob Wolf of Carrier Mills, Charles and Pat McCabe of Vernon, Gary and Donna McCabe of Goreville, Jackie McCabe of Carrier Mills, James Earl McCabe of Carrier Mills and David Joe McCabe of Carbondale; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and -nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will precede burial in Salem Cemetery at 10 a.m. Wednesday Nov. 20, 2013. The Rev. Dan Huett will officiate. Those attending the services are asked to meet at the cemetery. For those who wish memorials in his name should be directed to the Harrisburg Lions Club. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery.
