OBITUARY: Letitia “Tish” Osburn
Letitia "Tish" Osburn, 78 of Harrisburg, transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at the Shawnee Rose Care Center.
She was born Jan. 14, 1935, in Harrisburg to Will Reed and Leila Bride Skaggs. She graduated from Harrisburg Township High School in 1953 and attended Southern Illinois University where she completed her teaching degree and taught school for many years. Before returning to Harrisburg she and her family lived in Jacksonville. She was very active in the Harrisburg First Baptist Church especially the choir and music. Most recently she enjoyed singing with the Oldies But Goodies choir. Music was a joy for her. Brookstone Assisted Living was her home before her health declined and she was moved to Shawnee4 Rose Care Center.
She is survived by two sons, Steven Reed Osburn of Jacksonville and Lee Frederick Osburn of Bonita Springs, Fla.; a sister, Linda (Bruce) Roper of LaPorte, Ind.; two grandchildren, Fred Osburn and Stephanie Osburn; and one great-grandchild, Adrien Osburn; one stepsister, Dolores "George" Smudde of Chicago; two nieces, Kathryn Shea Roper and Molly Bride Roper.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Winkleman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg after noon Wednesday. For those who wish memorials may be made to the Harrisburg First Baptist Church in her memory and left at the funeral home.
