OBITUARY: Anna Berniece Piper

Anna Berniece Piper, 89 of Kouts, Ind., formerly of Valparaiso, Ind., passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at the Horton VNA Hospice Center.

She was born Oct. 6, 1924, in Harrisburg, to Eddie Ray and Susie Anna (Wiedemann) Baker. Mrs. Piper was an active member of Valparaiso Baptist Church and had worked in the accounts payable department at Bethlehem Steel for 10 years.

Survivors include two daughters: Sandra (Jim) Hattabaugh of Kouts and Patricia (John) Alexander of Crystal River, Fla.; seven grandchildren; nine-great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two husbands: Charles H. Emery and Roy Brown; one daughter, Nancy Lee Emery; and one brother, Ray Baker.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso, Ind., where the funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with Pastors Kenneth Gamblin and Robert Liedtke officiating.
